In order to better sustain research excellence and make new discoveries, we are constantly looking for potential candidates to fill multiple openings in our research group. These positions include Ph.D. candidates, postdoctoral fellows, and visiting scientists.

Current areas of research interest include (but are not limited to):

  • Advanced control systems based on DCS and fieldbus technologies
  • Embedded systems and smart sensors
  • Autonomous control systems for nuclear power plant applications
  • Power electronics for renewable energy integration and grid connections

The selection process for prospective candidates is very competitive. Successful candidates will have a strong theoretical background and some degree of exposure to practical systems in your chosen area of interest corresponding to our research areas. They will also be highly motivated to learn new things and be innovative in exploring new territories for advancing knowledge in your research field. Finally, successful candidates will be independent thinkers with good communication skills, as well as full dedication to their research work.

Financial support will be provided, if admitted. For those with outstanding records, nominations for additional funding will be made to external funding and scholarship agencies, including:

  • NSERC Postgraduate Scholarships-Doctoral and Postdoctoral Fellowships
  • Postdoctoral Fellowships from the Ontario Ministry of Research and Innovation
  • Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships
  • Ontario Graduate Scholarships
  • Ontario Trillium Scholarships

Candidates with their own government scholarships are also welcome, but it must be understood that a secured scholarship does not guarantee a position in this research group.
